An exposition slated for next month aims to connect residents with disabilities to organizations and services that can provide them support.

The Disability Resource Expo will be held Thursday, Aug. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is organized by the West Virginia Association for Disability Employment and the West Virginia Association of Rehabilitation Facilities.

During the exposition, representatives from different organizations will provide information about resources available to residents with disabilities. These range from employment programs to social security benefits, veterans’ services and disability service providers.

The exposition will be held simultaneously in two different locations, located in northern and southern West Virginia.

For northern West Virginia, one exposition will be held at the Op Shop in Fairmont. The Op Shop is a nonprofit community rehabilitation program that helps residents with disabilities secure employment, according to the organization’s website.

For southern West Virginia, the exposition will be held at Job Squad Inc. in Charleston. The nonprofit provides employment and skill development services to residents with disabilities, according to its website.

Both exhibitions are public and free to attend.
