West Virginia Senate Results By District

Depsite losing two seats, West Virginia Republicans maintained their majority in the state Senate, moving from a 22-12 to a 20-14 seat lead.

One notable change was Senate Majority Leader Ryan Ferns losing his seat to former U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld in District 1, signalling a leadership change to come in the 2019 legislative session.

West Virginia House of Delegates Results By District

Republicans lost five House seats during Tuesday’s mid-term election, but kept their majority, moving from a 64-36 to a 59-41 seat lead. Of note — Democrats swept the 51st House District, taking all five available seats. Also, Rep. Riley Moore, who was in line to become the next House majority leader, lost his seat in the Eastern Panhandle.

WVPB Radio will carry Special NPR Coverage from 8:00 PM to 3:00 AM. featuring newsmaker interviews, reports from state races and analysis from NPR’s Political Team. 

Election updates from the WVPB news team will begin at 6 p.m., bringing you the latest news on the races for the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, West Virginia House of Delegates, state Senate and Supreme Court races, as well as the Constitutional Amendments.
