15 Acres Burned by Brush Fires in Southern West Virginia

Brush fires have burned more than a dozen acres in Southern West Virginia.

One fire burned about 10 acres in the White Sulphur Springs area. Another fire burned about 5 acres in the Princeton area. Both fires occurred on Sunday.

Firefighters have contained both fires.

West Virginia’s spring forest fire season began March 1 and runs through May 31. A ban on daytime outdoor burning is in effect during the season.
