[CHARLESTON, WV] – West Virginia Public Broadcasting’s (WVPB) Grappalachia and Moutainthology programs have been recognized as winners in the 32nd Annual Communicator Awards.

With thousands of entries received from across the United States and around the globe, The Communicator Awards remains one of the largest and most competitive programs honoring excellence in marketing, communication and creative work. The awards are judged by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only body of over 500 industry leaders from top brands and agencies. This year’s Jury included professionals from Google, Accenture Song, Smithsonian, Microsoft, Digitas, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Publicis, Spotify, Johns Hopkins, Critical Mass, Amazon, The Andy Warhol Museum and many more.

WVPB Director of Video Production Chris Barnhart says the team is once again honored to be recognized for national level awards. “Our team works hard to bring recognition to the culture and story of West Virginia”, said Barnhart. “This is an example of the excellent work our team does as stewards of West Virginia’s story. These productions are evidence that the story of West Virginia is diverse, complicated, and engaging.”
