More than two dozen potential candidates’ names have been submitted to West Virginia University’s presidential search committee.

Board of Governors chairman James W. Dailey II says the committee will turn the names over to a search firm. A search firm hasn’t yet been hired.

Dailey told the Board of Governors on Friday that the search committee has received 31 applications or nominations.

The university is seeking a successor to Jim Clements, who left for Clemson University. E. Gordon Gee is serving as interim president.
