The West Virginia State Police hoped to expand their Crimes Against Children Unity but a line item veto from Gov. Tomblin has halted that expansion. The West Virginia Environmental Quality Board is reviewing an order issued by the DEP that revokes a waste disposal permit in Fayette County. Also, the towns of Matewan and Grafton will have grant funding as part of their participation in the Turn This Town Around project.

The Public Service Commission of West Virginia is currently conducting public comment hearings concerning developer NextEra Energy’s application to construct a new 107.5-mile-long transmission line from Pennsylvania through West Virginia to Virginia. WVPB spoke with NextEra about the project.
