On this week’s premiere broadcast of Mountain Stage, you’ll hear live performance radio from the Canady Creative Arts Center on the campus of West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. This episode features jam-grass pioneer Vince Herman Band, blues singer songwriter and storyteller Roy Book Binder, classic country duets from Teddy Thompson & Jenni Muldaur, Vermont rock and soul singer Kat Wright, and Larry & Joe who perform a fusion of Venezuelan and Appalachian folk music.
Our Song of the Week comes from one of the most prominent names in the modern jam band scene, Vince Herman. Like our host Kathy Mattea, Vince studied at WVU before making his way into the music world full time. During his tenure in West Virginia, Herman played in a number of bands and learned from bluegrass legends like fiddler Melvine Wine and many more.
Our Song of the Week is “Lost Lover’s Eyes” by Vince Herman Band, which appeared on Herman’s 2022 solo debut, Enjoy the Ride.
