Senators Weigh In On Moving And Stalled Health Related Legislation

It was Crossover Day at the West Virginia Legislature, which means it was the final day for bills to be read a third time in their house of origin. Host Suzanne Higgins speaks with senior reporter Dave Mistich and reporter Emily Allen for updates from both the House and Senate. We also bring you updates on several health-related bills and issues.

Lawmakers remembered the significance of Feb. 26 in state history – the Buffalo Creek flood. On this day in 1972, a Pittston coal slurry impoundment dam burst, flooding the Logan County valley with black wastewater. Sens. Ron Stollings, D-Boone, and Paul Hardesty, D-Logan, made remarks in the Senate on the disaster.
