Investigative Reporter Eric Eyre Talks About Opioid Lawsuits, Upcoming Book

Listen

On this West Virginia Morning, we hear a sneak peak of this weekend’s episode of Inside Appalachia. Guest host Giles Snyder speaks with Eric Eyre, the Charleston Gazette-Mail reporter whose reporting into the opioid epidemic won the Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting.

Eyre is currently working on a new book, called “Death in Mud Lick: A Coal Country Fight against the Drug Companies That Delivered the Opioid Epidemic”. He’s also been reporting on the court cases in which local municipalities are suing drug manufacturers, for their role in the opioid epidemic.

And our Mountain State Song of the Week is from pop-songsmith Matt Nathanson, who expertly combines  the heartfelt and the humorous, in his song “Bill Murray.”

You can hear the entire set from Nathanson, plus performances by Stephen Kellogg, Carbon Leaf, Pete Muller, and more on this week’s episode of Mountain Stage with Larry Groce.
