Listen

State, federal and city officials will meet Tuesday in Huntington discuss revitalization efforts in the city.

The City of Huntington and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will host a forum Tuesday December 8th to provide guidance on moving the city forward with a new revitalization plan. The forum is among the first of its kind under the EPA’s “Making a Visible Difference in Communities” initiative.

Huntington was one of 53 communities nationwide that the EPA selected for the program. The EPA’s goal is to coordinate technical assistance from its own programs and other federal agencies to support environmental improvements in those 53 communities..

Among the things that will be discussed is how to fix brownfield sites in Huntington and how to revitalize and improve the city’s riverfront area.
