A former Wood County lawmaker has been appointed to the West Virginia Parole Board.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced David Nohe’s appointment on Monday in a news release.

Nohe replaces James E. Colombo on the board. Colombo resigned in June ahead of being named as Parkersburg’s mayor.

Nohe was elected to the West Virginia Senate in 2010. He was mayor of Vienna at the time and served in both roles for two years.

He served as Vienna’s mayor from 1997 to 2012. He also formerly was a detective with the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.
