Education Reform and Foster Care Take Center Stage at the Statehouse

Listen

It’s been a marathon day in the West Virginia Senate, as senators discuss SB 451 – the comprehensive education reform bill – as a “committee as a whole.” In the House, delegates considered amendments to HB 2010 – transitioning the state’s foster care system to a managed care model.

Host Suzanne Higgins and Senior Statehouse Reporter Dave Mistich chat about the latest action over the omnibus education reform bill.

House Majority Leader Amy Summers, R-Taylor, and Assistant House Majority Leader Kayla Kessinger, R-Fayette, also join our show to discuss HB 2010, which overhauls the state’s foster care system. HB 2010 will be up for passage in the House on Thursday.
