Donor Services Associate

The Donor Services Manager supports the operations of West Virginia Public Broadcasting. The Manager also works directly with the Director of Development and Membership Manager to build and implement processes to aid fund development and provide high quality customer service.

This team member must be committed to the mission, provide high level customer service and build trust and strong relationships with donors. A successful candidate will also be detail oriented. They will enjoy working in teams to achieve results, supporting donors, and be inspired by community change. The Manager must be a self-starter, enjoy being responsible for a body of work, and able to navigate competing priorities and manage multiple tasks. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain and update donor records in database as needed
  • Management of database pledge drive entry
  • Maintain all aspects of premium ordering and inventory control
  • Maintain accurate database records and reports 
  • Provide Passport support to donors
  • Provide donor service in support of the Donor Services Associate
  • Provide support to the Membership Manager as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding independently and timely to donors on day-to-day issues; perform administrative tasks related to donor requests as necessary 
  • Support the WVPB team in building their understanding of prospective donors, nonprofit organizations, and community partners

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a minimum three years of nonprofit or related experience  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams and Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook 
  • Prior experience using a database, Allegiance preferred   
  • Familiarity with public media, including NPR, PBS, and WVPB programming.
  • Excellent verbal, written and digital communication skills that are effective with a diverse range of audiences
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality 
  • Experience with philanthropic operations, systems, and donor service a plus  
  • Brings a positive attitude, an interest in learning and openness to change
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team; detail oriented, well organized, focused and goal oriented, with a high level of initiative and energy, as well as problem solving skills 

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a Full-Time, Exempt (40 hours/week, M-F) salaried position. Benefits offered — medical, dental, eye, and state retirement.
