The Seneca Rocks Discovery Center is about to host its annual Discover Nature Day. Through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Forest Service sponsors the event on Saturday, June 7th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Every year the event varies – this year includes live animals, demonstrations, activity stations both inside and out, and take home crafts.

Located in the Monongahela National Forest in Pendleton County, the center sits at the base of majestic cliffs that rise nearly 900 feet over the North Fork River.

The area is known for rock climbing and hiking. Organizers say they hope the day will help the public get a better sense of what public lands mean and how to enjoy them.

The Discovery Center is located at 13 Roy Gap Rd. Seneca Rocks, W.Va. 26884. The entrance to the main parking lot is off U.S. 33, just south of the U.S. 33/State Route 28 intersection in Seneca Rocks. For more information call the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center at (304) 567-2827.
