Cedar Grove’s police chief faces charges stemming from an altercation with his wife and brother-in-law.
Media outlets report that 31-year-old Aaron Roop was arrested Tuesday on charges of domestic battery, domestic assault and brandishing a dangerous weapon.
The incident occurred at a residence in Fayette County.
WCHS-TV reports that Roop is accused in a criminal complaint with threatening to shoot his wife, and threatening his brother-in-law and hitting the other man in the head with a gun.
Roop also faces a separate battery charge stemming from a Jan. 27 incident. He is accused of grabbing a man, pushing him against a fence and threatening him.
Roop was being held Tuesday at the Southern Regional Jail. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
