With millions of extra dollars for tourism, West Virginia is kicking off a marketing campaign to sell its story to surrounding states.

On Friday, state Tourism Commissioner Amy Shuler Goodwin announced the campaign titled "Real." The push is based on market research and features West Virginians talking about what their outdoorsy communities have to offer.

Goodwin said the campaign taps into part of $4.7 million extra in newly approved tourism marketing money.

A bill in the House of Representatives says it will make airline taxes and fees clearer, but lobbyists say it'll prevent consumers from finding competitive flight prices. Grafton cleans up the downtown as part of the 'Turn This Town Around' project, and international students at Marshall University are taking a course on the ins and outs of the English language outside of the classroom.

Booking tickets with airlines rarely ever seems to be an enjoyable process. A bill in the House of Representatives would change that, but whether it’ll make it better or worse depends on who you ask.

The debate is over HR 4156, which has made it through its single committee reference and is expected to receive a vote by the full chamber in the coming weeks.

The bill is just four pages long, but don’t let that fool you. If passed, it could completely change the way you purchase airline tickets.

When you think about a scrumptious meal, airline food does not come to mind.

There are plenty of challenges to tasty airline meals, like the fact that many airlines now charge you for anything more than a tiny bag of chips and a plastic cup of non-alcoholic drink, at least on domestic flights. Plus, you can't cook on an airplane, so anything you're served has probably been chilled, then reheated. And flight delays certainly don't help with the freshness factor.
