Special moments-performances which transcend the medium in which they are presented. Perhaps this is what we seek: those consummate performances that makes everyone smile and feel good.

Last night, on Jimmy Fallon, the Roots and the Red Hot Chili Peppers joined together to perform a Funkadelic cover. It was, to be sure, a display of tightness, fury, exuberance and energy that I have not seen on TV in a long, long time. Forget the Hammies, this was for real. A burning, blazing performance. Unreal.
