West Virginia Public Broadcasting, an award-winning statewide public media organization, is seeking a highly motivated individual and public media fan to join our team as a Marketing Coordinator and help tell West Virginia’s story.  

The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for executing our recently developed marketing plan, raising the visibility our organization and our award-winning news, educational and cultural content. The Marketing Coordinator will also play a vital role in social media and multi-platform promotional efforts.  

Full-time, Salary Exempt Position

KEY ATTRIBUTES FOR CANDIDATES: 

Powerful Organizer – Ability to coordinate marketing and promotional plans across TV, radio, and digital deliver platforms. Skilled at planning, executing, and measuring the results of marketing efforts. 

Persuasive Communicator – Effective at writing, editing and producing a variety of educational, informational, and promotional materials. Composes compelling press releases, newsletters and event descriptions.     

Social Thinker – Understands the power of digital media, naturally conversant in social platforms. Able to communicate visually through charts and graphics.  

Brand Ambassador – Recognizes the value of WVPB’s brand, parent brands like PBS and NPR, and sub-brands such as Inside Appalachia. Capable of raising awareness and protecting the integrity of WVPB brands and identity.  

REQUIRED SKILLS AND TRAINING: 

Bachelor’s degree with a major in communications, fine arts, journalism, graphic design, marketing, public relations, English or related field.  Full-time paid experience in a field of public information dissemination may substitute for above training on a year-for-year basis. 

One year of experience in a public information dissemination field is required. 

Media editing experience is preferred, with software such Adobe Create Suite or equivalent.
