Consultant Says Marshall Board Solid, Committed

Marshall University

A consultant says Marshall University’s Board of Governors is a solid group that compares favorably with other university boards across the country.

The board hired James Lanier with the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges to conduct a self evaluation. The Herald-Dispatch  reports that Lanier met with the board Monday. Most of the meeting was in executive session.

Lanier says the board is committed to Marshall and is doing the right things.

Board vice chairman Ed Howard says the evaluation revealed new ways for the board to function. They include establishing a governance committee and keeping the board’s priorities in check.
