Are you a WVPB Member? Tell Us What You Want to Hear!

If you're a current member of WVPB, we want your help. We are trying to make several radio programming decisions for weekday afternoons from 2 - 4 p.m., and weekday evenings from 7 - 9 p.m.

We are considering these changes based on ratings information and listener feedback.

Our current weekday radio schedule (except for the two-month WV Legislative session) is as follows - consider this Option A:

2 p.m. The Takeaway, featuring short interviews on the news of the day

3 p.m. Fresh Air with Terry Gross, NPR's daily interview show about arts, culture and news

4 p.m. All Things Considered

6 p.m. Marketplace

6:30 p.m. All Things Considered

7 p.m. PRI's The World, a program that crosses borders and time zones to bring home the stories that matter

8 p.m. Fresh Air (repeat from 3 p.m.)

We are considering several options, including Option B:

2 p.m. 1A from NPR, where host Joshua Johnson convenes a conversation about the most important issues of our time (formerly the Diane Rehm Show)

3 p.m. - 9 p.m. Same as current schedule

This would replace The Takeaway with 1A, and probably be revenue-neutral. It would be a relatively easy change to make.

And here's Option C:

2 p.m. Fresh Air with Terry Gross, (instead of at 3)

3 p.m. PRI's The World (this show is live at 3 p.m., which is an added benefit)

4 p.m. All Things Considered

6 p.m. Marketplace

6:30 p.m. All Things Considered

7 p.m. Fresh Air (repeat from 2 p.m.)

8 p.m. PRI's The World (repeat from 3 p.m.)

This schedule would save the station money, and recognizes that most listeners only hear 20 - 30 minutes of a program at a time, and are unlikely to hear the repeats.)
